Kapten & Son is at home all over the world. That’s why our glasses are inspired by international hotspots: SOHO, FITZROY, MAUI and VENICE.

Der Berliner Mode Salon opened its doors for the second time and successfully demonstrated its increasing importance for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. Der Berliner Mode Salon at the Kronprinzenpalais (Crown Prince’s Palace) transformed itself again into a stage over three days, with its events making a statement for German fashion and making the passion for the craft palpable. The sense of community among the participating designers was tangible in all areas and characteristic of an event that, once again, was able to make its mark as a positive development in the German fashion industry. With displays for the public over three floors, it was made clear just how much fashion is part of our culture and is also a key economic factor. While in January, 18 selected German designer labels presented their work in a group exhibition in the generous spaces of the Kronprinzenpalais, this time the invited guests could admire the individual exhibits and tableaux vivants from 30 designers. For the first time, this included accessory and jewellery labels. As part of the group exhibition, Mercedes-Benz also presented the three German finalists of the 30th International Festival of Fashion and Photography in Hyères. This is a development […]
„The brand name implicitly suggests that the clothes you wear are a part of who you are but also an integral part of yourself – “a second skin” or a “human scale”. HUMAN SCALES was founded by Mikko Kämäräinen and Peter Ferber in 2007. It’s the details that make the menswear label to what it is. The brand is known for passionate work with extremely high-quality materials and careful workmanship. „I spend a lot of time weighing the qualities of trims and linings to ensure that everything matches and harmonizes with the garment as a whole.“ (M.K.) HUMAN SCALES doesn’t want to create loud fashion statements. The design is defined by casual styles without unnecessary applications that can be combined easily. When it comes to the purchase of materials for knitwear and jackets the brand works with the best suppliers in the Biella district in Italy. All shoes are handmade and produced out of calfskin. Denim, jersey and most shirting fabrics are sourced from small Japanese textile companies. „We strive for uncompromising quality throughout the range and we do this without robbing you blind.“(M.K.)
